On January 1, 2010, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, EPA, will, for the first time, require large emitters of heat-trapping emissions to begin collecting greenhouse gas, GHG, data under a new reporting system. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is issuing national emission standards regarding the control of hazardous air pollutants for nine metal fabrication and finishing area source categories. This final rule, which went into effect on July 23, establishes emission standards in the form of management practices and equipment standards for new and existing operations of dry abrasive blasting, machining, dry grinding, and dry polishing with machines, spray painting, and other spray coating, as well as welding operations. 01 August 2008
