Dörken Showcases New North American Tech Center

Dörken Corporation USA, an operating unit of Dörken MKS-Systeme, Herdecke, Germany and a global leader in the manufacture of corrosion protection coating systems, trademarked under the name DELTA-MKS®, for a variety of parts including fasteners, springs, brackets clips and stamped parts, recently hosted an open house to unveil its new North American Technical Center in Grass Lake, Mich.

More than 120 invited guests, including personnel from OEMs, Tier One Suppliers and licensed applicators attended the event. The guests were provided a tour of the 24,000 square feet facility which includes a state-of-the-science research wing for advanced coating testing, application trials, and turnkey system development for OEMs.

Among the highlights of the festivities was the formal ribbon cutting ceremony attended by Mr. Karl E. Dörken, board member, Dr. Gerhard Reusmann, CEO of Dörken MKS-Systeme and president of Dörken Corporation USA, and Fred Schultz, vice president of Dörken Corporation USA.

"The new center represents a major capital investment of Dörken MKS-Systeme's global finishing strategies, which also recently upgraded its tech center in Herdecke along with adding new centers in S. Korea, China and Brazil,” Mr. Dörken said. “These moves will provide the company with global R&D capabilities and collaborative resources. The new facilities empower our team members with the resources and tools to better serve our customers.”

Dörken's global, environmentally friendly coating solutions are approved for use by and meet the standards and specifications for corrosion protection, sealants, and lubricity performance of fasteners of vehicle manufacturers and Tier One suppliers worldwide. Additonally, Dörken's product development programs and manufacturing operations are certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001:2000 and to ISO 14001.
